Edwardian Embroidered Whitework  Cotton Batiste Chemise Dress Summer Nightgown
This antique Edwardian era embroidered whitework cotton batiste chemise dress summer nightgown dates from 1910. It is made of a sheer fine white cotton batiste fabric with whitework needlework hand embroidered, French knots, drawn thread cutwork scrolling, spiral, floral vine leaf designs on the front top and a pink silk ribbon woven through the neckline. This lovely lace whitework chemise slip dress summer nightgown has a long floor length loose fitting straight shift style, with scalloped edging around the neckline, cap sleeves and is sheer, unlined. The dress measures 48 inches long, with a 50 inch chest, 50 inch waist and 50 inch hips. It is in good condition, with only a tiny hole on one sleeve (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique whitework wearable art!
