It is a rare stone, and one that scores relatively high on the Mohs's Scale at a.7-7.5. Higher than your beryls like Morganite or Kunzite, meaning the stone is harder and will not wear as quickly. The Mohs goes from 1-10,  Diamonds are a 10 because the only thing that can cut or scratch a diamond would but or scratch a diamond would be another diamond so they are the hardest so they are the hardest of all stones. The 2nd or the ones that score 9 would be your sapphires... A similar color and carat size ring that is set in 18kt vs this rings 10kt is listed for ,145.  There's another one that is set in 14 carrot is it going for 0 and a third set in 14kt but half the carat size listed for 7.  Just for reference the current precious metals closed yesterday with a gram of 14kt gold going for more than a gram of 10kt gold.  So most of these rings are probably about 2 maybe 3 grams, thus the difference between an 18kt ring isn't worth that much more than  10kt ring. If an 18kt ring is 2.3 gram the 10kt gold ring, the 18kt gold ring is only worth more in gold value. Don't let the labels like 10kt vs 18kt hold more importance than they actually do.
